Dear Showpaper supporter,
We’re delighted to announce that Showpaper is now a sponsored organization of the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA). NYFA is a 501(c)3, tax-exempt organization founded in 1971 to work with the arts community throughout New York State and the United States to develop and facilitate programs in all disciplines. This is very exciting — we’re now one of the elite few emerging organizations inducted into NYFA’s fold. Thank you for all the support that has made it possible for us to grow this far!
Showpaper has been corporate-sponsorship- and advertising-free since day one, and right now we’re trying to continue our goal of providing ad-free music listings and art. However, Showpaper costs $800 just to print each issue, which we do every two weeks. Until now, we’ve been funded almost entirely through benefit shows — putting on a music event, charging at the door.
Now, we’re reaching out to you directly and asking for your support as Showpaper develops its long-term role in promoting accessible art and music throughout the entire Tri-State area.
So today, we’re launching a new fundraising drive! With varying contributions, you’ll be able to receive subscription to Showpaper, a membership card allowing you entry into Showpaper events, a museum-quality Showpaper box set, and more!

We’re also looking for PA equipment, office supplies, art materials, and other necessary pieces for our events and production plans. These sorts of donations can also be made tax deductible through NYFA, so please contact joe@showpaper.org if you’d like to arrange something with us.
In addition to contributions, we’re also looking for new volunteers. If you want to help out, please join our Volunteer Group. We’re especially looking for people with experience writing grants, organizing events, and arts administration.
